Story

Our #TeamKAB marathon runners raise over £25,000 for Kent Association for the Blind (KAB) each year. Thanks to their awesome supporters, we're able to continue running our much needed services, such as counselling, social groups and befriending.

When someone starts to lose their sight, it can be extremely daunting and scary. That's why KAB's there for them throughout their sight loss journey, helping to support them to learn how to use a long cane, to cook safely, to give advice about benefits, to teach skills to enable them to continue working, to teach them how to use technologies that magnify or read out text and to give them the confidence to live with sight loss.

Hazel is our Trustee and ran her first London Marathon in 2023.

As a severely sight impaired person myself I have first hand experience of the amazing support KAB provide. They gave me the confidence to start using a long cane, assistive technology support to keep me in employment and encouragement to try new things like VI tennis and art through their social activities and more recently running which is why I am taking on this challenge.

Thank you for supporting KAB through your sponsorship. Your donation is going to make a BIG difference.
