Longfield provides free care and support to patients with life-limiting illnesses and their families in Gloucestershire, helping to support people with a range of serious health conditions such as cancer, Parkinson's disease and Multiple Sclerosis. Our care extends to the whole family and we offer services such as counselling, complementary therapies and our vital Hospice at Home care to support those reaching the end of life.
Your fundraising efforts will directly contribute to the care and support of over 800 patients and their families each year, people like Lesley and Paul Holland who received support from Hospice at Home when Paul became very unwell:
The Longfield nurses could see that I was getting exhausted and they took over all the physical tasks and the pain control, and sat with him through the night, as well as the day visits. I was able to go back to just being his loving wife. I fed Paul and brushed his teeth, but at the end I just held his hand and told him I loved him.
The Longfield girls are angels waiting for their wings. They were so dignified and gave him his dignity. My darling Paul was one in a million.
