Joan has been involved with the work of Moving Mountains Nepal for a number of years and travelled out to Nepal in both 2016 and 2017 to see first hand and get involved with the important work of Moving Mountains in the rural villages of Bupsa and Bumburi in the lower Solukhumbu region of the Juving District in the Himalayan mountains.

For Joan's retirement, after 23 very happy years with the School of Hospitality, Food & Tourism Management at the University of Guelph she requested that any donations be sent to Moving Mountains to help us continue that work in the region.
