Jo Jones' Virtual Everest Challenge

Organised by Housing Justice

This is the big one! Mount Everest is the highest point on earth and one of the biggest physical challenges a person can take on! Sitting 8,848m above sea level, the summit is a dome of snow with space for 6 people standing.

Story

I am undertaking the Virtual Everest Challenge to raise much-needed funds for Housing Justice Cymru, a charity that is close to my heart.

I will be following in the footsteps of Sir Edmund Hillary and climbing the equivalent of Mount Everest in 12 weeks and tackling one of the biggest physical challenges a person can take on!

Unfortunately, I won’t be travelling to Everest itself but will be completing the equivalent elevation on the hills of North Wales and surrounding areas.

I’m planning to post some of my walks and routes on Instagram: Joanne WJ (@joanne.wyn.jones) • Instagram photos and videos

Housing Justice run several projects across the UK that support people experiencing homelessness. In North Wales, our Citadel project supports people in Wrexham who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. Our fantastic volunteer team provide much needed support through difficult circumstances. Further afield, Housing Justice supports Night Shelters and Emergency Accommodation, Hosting and Lodgings, and works with churches to release land and buildings to meet the acute need for social housing in our communities.
