Story

Help make our Children's Hospital Even Better!

Our children's hospital the Jenny Lind Children's hospital which has been helping children for 165 years. Basically, we were the second city in the country to get a children's hospital after Great Ormond Street in 1854 and it was funded by the famous Swedish singer Jenny Lind and has helped hundreds of thousands of children since it was built.

We never know when one of our loved ones may be in hospital and so helping fund items for our Children's Hospital can have a direct impact on local people your friends, your colleagues and your families who may use this facility.

How Your Donation Makes An Impact :

-By helping to support parental accommodation at Mckee House for families to stay on site to be close to their sick babies in NICU

- By providing additional specialist equipment for both NICU & Buxton Ward, both part of the JLCH, that enhances and improves the care of our sickest new-born babies to young people. Recent purchases include new heated, blankets for NICU babies.

- By providing support to research relating to help improve the care and treatment of sick children

- By helping us to provide support for education and training to the specialist paediatric doctors, surgeons and nurses of the future to include audio-visual equipment in our new paediatric theatre complex to enable live streaming of surgery to help train medical students

- By enhancing the environment of the childrens hospital, ensuring that it is calming and engaging for children and young people, including funding the new artwork for the new children's theatres.
