Story
This October, Jeffrey Long MBE will take on a 40 mile walk to honour the 40th Anniversary of The Falklands War.
Jeffrey, an ex-PARA himself, has been a staunch supporter of his Regimental charity over the years, taking on a number of walking challenges around his local area of Bingley. Despite still suffering with a back injury from an old parachute injury, as well as regular chemo, Jeffrey continues to inspire and astound with his feats of endurance.
For this latest walk, he will be raising money for Support Our Paras, who support soldiers from The Parachute Regiment and Airborne Forces in their times of need. The Parachute Regiment played a key role in The Falklands War 40 years ago, and forty-two members of the Regiment and attached personnel were killed in action. Two Victoria Crosses were posthumously awarded to members of the Regiment, Lt Col 'H' Jones and Sgt Ian McKay, and a new battle honour was awarded on its Regimental Colours.
