Story
As a charity, we strive to transform the lives of those impacted by musculoskeletal conditions and injuries by funding research and innovation across Trauma and Orthopaedics. Our Joint Action appeal provides dedicated funds to achieve this through activities like Clinical Trials and Research Fellowships.
Over the past three years, we have worked closely with Exeter and Nottingham Clinical Trials Units and the following are just a few of the topics being worked on;
- Early phase trials on intelligent walking frames and sensors to remotely monitor recovery after knee replacements,
- Understanding how exercise changes outcomes in patients with low back pain,
- Studying whether resistance exercises improve pain and function in adults with a broken wrist
- Impact of early weight-bearing following various forms of foot and ankle surgery
Funding the Clinical Trials Units like the above is vital for driving innovation and developing cutting-edge treatments by identifying and testing new orthopaedic procedures, innovative surgical techniques, implants and devices.
But, there is still so much to do and we can't do it without your support. Would you consider donating this Winter to help fund life-changing trauma and orthopaedic research into 2024 and beyond?
