In her sixteen years as headmistress, one of Jane Cameron's most dearly held goals has been to make an NHP education available within the local community to children who would benefit from the opportunity even if their families could not afford the fees.
The NHP Bursary Foundation was created in 2009. To date, 34 children have been awarded this transformative opportunity, many of them having gone on to earn bursaries at secondary schools such as Westminster, UCS, Latymer, Rugby and Godolphin.
Since the very beginning, Jane's compassionate educational philosophy, her vision of inclusiveness and her belief that when a school is an integral part of the fabric of a community, all its pupils benefit, has been at the core of the NHP ethos. Now, on the occasion of her retirement, we are creating the Jane Cameron Bursary to specifically honour Jane's belief that music and the arts hold a vital place in the educational curriculum, that early experience in them provides not only enrichment, but a basis for life skills. This will be a means-tested bursary, with which Jane has committed to remain actively involved, to be awarded, beginning at year 4, to a local child who shows outstanding promise in the creative arts.
This is an ambitious but achievable goal. To reach it we desperately need your help! Every penny will matter, so please give as generously as you are able to help create this life-changing opportunity for a child.
