Jana Jordan shared her enthusiasm, positive energy, and passion for life with every single person she met. In her honor, family and friends are starting a fundraising effort aimed to establish a lasting legacy at Fort Hays State University.

Jana has a storied history with Fort Hays State that spanned her entire adult life. In 1977, she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication from FHSU and began her career in tourism as the International Group Tour Guide for Hays Travel. From there, she served 26 years as the Hays Convention and Visitors Bureau Director.

Jana was also a strong supporter of the Tourism & Hospitality Management program at Fort Hays State University and served as a mentor to many marketing and tourism professionals. She was also instrumental in many local, regional, and statewide tourism initiatives that encouraged visitors to see the wonders of our area. Her community involvement included Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ellis County, Toys for Tots, and many other organizations.

Contributions to the Jana Jordan Memorial Fund will not only recognize an amazing woman, but will provide financial assistance to FHSU students for years to come. Your gift would go far in providing students with hands-on experiences and opportunities similar to those Jana would have offered.
