Story
This handsome chap is 11 year old Jai. He is incredibly sweet natured and LOVES people! In the short time he has been with us, we have all grown quite attached to him as his character is SO SO infectious. He is a charmer, that’s for sure and we want to do all we can in order to ensure he can get back to health. Could you help us to help him?
Upon arrival to the centre, Jai had a prevalent heart murmur that has needed further investigation with a heart scan. His scan determined that his heart was in relatively good health which is amazing, however his blood tests highlighted that he is severely Hyperthyroid! He is therefore in much the same situation as Morticia from our previous appeal.
His levels are a lot higher than Morticia’s were, and so he has already started tablets in order to help to stabilise his thyroid levels and will be on this medication for around 4 weeks. He will then need repeat blood tests and if these are okay, will go on to have the operation to have the thyroid gland removed. This operation is costly however it will give Jai a brilliant quality of life where he can spend his senior years free of medication and any discomfort.
Being a self-funded branch and being financially independent from the national RSPCA and also having at least 30 cats on site at any one time, we do rely heavily on the kind donations of our loyal supporters to keep going and to keep helping as many animals as possible. Therefore if you are in a position to be able to donate even a £1.00 towards Jai’s vet bill, then we would be incredibly grateful.
As always, we will endeavour to keep you updated with Jai’s progress as he navigates his journey back to health and we will be here to support him every step of the way.
