Story

Alix Popham, co-founder of Head for Change, is joined by actor, Mark Lewis Jones, and a truly incredible list of sportspeople including: Carl Hayman, Gavin Evans, Ian Gough, Shane Williams, Nigel Elson, Gareth Fairie, Joel Bramwell, Matt Tait, Matt Miller, Dan Tonge, Matt Thomas and Dave Tonge.

Together, they shall face one of the biggest mental and physical challenges yet.

One of the toughest in the world, IRONMAN Wales takes place on 3rd September 2023.

A hugely demanding challenge, both physically and mentally, the group shall take on a 2.4 mile swim followed by a 112 mile cycle with approximately 2,070m of climbing and ending with a 26.2 mile run that includes 396m of climbing.

Let’s hope the weather is kind for them so that the external elements don’t scupper what they have been training so hard for during the past several months.

We are determined to continue to raise awareness and educate people about sports-related dementia in rugby.

With your support, we are fundraising for much needed educational programmes and research in the prevention and cure for early onset dementia and neurogenerative disease in the sport we love.

The money raised will go directly towards the education, care and support and potential treatments in rugby through Head for Change.
