Story
Ipswich Community Media is an award-winning charity working with and for local people.
We empower people to create, learn, inspire and build stronger communities together.
Our mission is to challenge inequality by empowering people to transform their lives through learning and creativity.
We provide high quality community activities & opportunities in music, media, the creative arts and language learning for people of all ages, cultures, abilities & backgrounds.
Every week we:
- Reach over 60 children and young people through our projects
- Support 100 volunteers in our classrooms and studios
- Teach English to over 130 learners from a mix of over 21 different nationalities.
All of our offerings are free because we passionately believe that open access for the most disadvantaged in our community is vital for a healthy inclusive society.
A £10 donation could buy a data card to give a local family of four internet access for a month.
£15 would pay for a young person to experience a theatre or dance show for the first time
£25 would cover the costs of one of our ESOL classroom volunteers for a week.
£30 would pay for headphones for a young person to make music at home or pay for arts and crafts materials for our South Street Kids project for a month
£80 would pay for one of our ESOL learners to sit their English exams and get a qualification
£100 would buy a keyboard for a budding young musician who's keen to take it to the next level.
£150 would pay for studio time for a young person to record music
£250 would pay for a new tablet to loan out to one of our ESOL learners so they can join our virtual English classes & help their children with education
