Story
Education is a marathon, not a sprint.
In Buffalo State's School of Education, we know this well. For more than 150 years, we have led the way in preparing teachers and educational leaders to shape young minds – not just in WNY, but around the world.
The Michael and Nancy Chicola International Professional Development Schools Consortium (IPDS) at Buffalo State is a big part of how we do that. This innovative program places teacher candidates and experienced professionals alike in international schools to develop global competencies.
The immersive experience of IPDS doesn’t just make better educators: it changes the participants' lives.
We're going the extra mile for the global educators of the future.
On October 27, faculty and staff from the School of Education are running the 2024 Niagara Falls International Marathon in Niagara Falls, Ontario, in support of IPDS. Our team is the BORDERLESS BENGALS!
Training for and running a marathon is hard work, but our students work even harder to become effective global educators. The IPDS immersive learning experience requires time, dedication, and perseverance. We want to show our students that we're in it for the long haul with them.
How can you help?
By making a donation to the IPDS Support Fund, which makes it possible for students and faculty to take part every year.
Over 200 Buffalo State students have benefited from IPDS since it began 2012. Funding is the number one obstacle preventing other talented students from participating in this transformative experience.
Every dollar matters for sustaining this important program.
