Story
There are currently around 900,000 people with dementia in the UK and this is projected to rise to 1.6 million by 2040. Alzheimers Society fund help for today through their support services such as dementia advisers and hope for the future through their research.
This will be a challenging trek against the backdrop of the awe-inspiring Sahara Desert over 5 days. Starting in Ouarzazate on the edge of the desert, the group will trek through the desert passing small towns, views of Jebel Sarhro, palm trees and small sand dunes on our way. Each day they will trek between 3 - 6 hours.
From flat desert floor scattered with ancient fossils, to perfect wind-blown sand-dunes, this trek is diverse and demanding. The vast desert is a truly beautiful place to discover while the incredible star-strewn night skies are unforgettable. Accompanied by Berber guides and a caravan of camels, the remote night-camps with camp-fires and Berber singing are a real highlight of the trip!
Good luck Howden Group!
