Story
Dementia is the UK's biggest killer. There are currently over 900,000 people living with dementia in the UK and this is set to rise to 1.4 million by 2040 if we do nothing. One in three people born today will develop the condition in their lifetime and no one has yet survived it.
This cruel disease has a devastating personal impact, but also far-reaching consequences for society as a whole with it currently costing the UK economy over £42 billion every single year.
The Insurance United Against Dementia campaign was launched in 2017 and is an industry movement created and championed by leaders across the insurance sector, in partnership with Alzheimer’s Society. Together, the campaign aims to raise a heroic initial £10 million to support critical dementia research.
In the last 7 years, the campaign has gone from strength to strength and during that time has been supported by over 120 insurance companies and not only was the campaign the first of its kind, but it has since led the way for other industries to unite against dementia too. The campaign is now within touching distance of the initial £10 million goal... will you help to get us there?
