Story
The Independent Music Cup aims to expand further this year, growing the community of companies involved and raising money and awareness for our chosen charity, War Child UK.
Together we hope to raise £10,000 in aid of War Child:
£500 could turn a young persons dreams into a reality by funding literacy, life skills and vocational training for a year to help them recover from the trauma of war and rebuild their lives.
£10,000 could pay for 1,380 children to join the War Child FC programme for a year, they will receive War Child FC kits and equipment and War Child can train 24 coaches to deliver football sessions alongside offering important life skills and psychosocial support.
War Child are fighting for a world where no child's life is torn apart by war; aiming to protect, educate, support and stand up for the rights of children caught up in conflict across the world.
In 2018 War Child directly reached 123,000 children, providing comprehensive, tailored support to individuals through our global programmes. Together with you, they want to leave a lasting impression on the lives of children.
The charity has created a new project, War Child FC, an ambitious plan to harness the power of football to improve the lives of children who live in conflict areas, by joining us today you are helping support more children to have the freedom to play. War Child FC combines football with psycho-social support to mobilise young people and foster a sense of belonging, providing life skills interventions which equip children and young people with skills needed to rebuild their futures.
Now in its fifth year and established by Ninja Tune, the tournament will take place on Saturday, the 27th July 2019 at Battersea Powerleague.
