Story
The Impellam Group (STEM) are proud to be continuing our partnership with Lia's for 2024 - to change, and save even more lives!
The Impellam Group (STEM) have been partners of Lia's Wings Since 2022, and have raised (to date) just over £43,000. By the end of 2024, we hope to have raised a grand total of £100,000 - enough to cover the cost of 10 life-saving flights.
Over the next 12 months we will be taking on crazy challenges, volunteering at events across the country, and raising vital funds and awareness to ensure this amazing charity can continue supporting children (and families) whenever they need it.
Thank you for your help and support, it means a huge amount to everyone at Impellam, and to our partners, Lia's Wings.
Lia’s Wings is the only aeroplane ambulance charity available to babies and critically ill children in the UK.
Since 2010 Lia's Wings have provided vital air transfers for babies and children who are critically ill, helping them access life-changing and life-saving care.
When families need urgent expert care whilst far away from home – often in dramatic, and unexpected circumstances - they are the organization that people turn to.
Their beneficiaries include extremely premature babies; toddlers needing specialist treatments and transplants; children needing surgeries or diagnoses only available from specialist hospitals; teenagers undergoing rehabilitation after traumatic injuries, and even children in need of palliative care closer to home.
Lia's Wings support children "from bed to bed" integrating a clinical care package for that child with logistical, practical and emotional support for their family. Their service is often described as "a miracle".
They support children who have some of the rarest and most clinically complex conditions, working alongside world leading experts and hospitals (Like Great Ormond Street) to ensure that babies and children who are amongst the most clinically vulnerable can access the treatment and care they need.
Lia's Wings ensure that more children survive, and thrive for weeks, months and years after their stays in hospital.
