Visit the charity's profileCancer is the most common cause of death in Ireland with more than 9,000 people in dying each year. That's almost 25 people dying from cancer every day across Ireland.
The Irish Cancer Society are working towards a future where nobody dies from cancer, and everyone affected by the disease will have access to world class treatment and support.
It is only thanks to the generosity of the Irish public that we are able to provide vital free services and support to ensure nobody in Ireland has to face cancer alone.
Our Volunteer Driver service offers safe and reliable transport to and from hospitals for patients to attend their chemotherapy appointments; our Support Line provides support and advice to cancer patients and their families and our Night Nursing service delivers vital respite for families and allows cancer patients to spend their final days at home surrounded by their loved ones.
As the largest independent funder of cancer research in Ireland, we are also constantly funding new and innovative research projects that can help bring us closer to a future where no-one dies from cancer in Ireland. In total, we have dedicated almost 30 million in funding to cancer research projects over the last decade.

When my husband was first diagnosed, the Daffodil Centre provided me with information and booklets on his condition. The Daffodil Centre nurse gave me support and comfort. He is now in Stage 4, I still go to the Daffodil Centre for a chat, reassurance, and I am always made feel welcome and leave feeling supported and reassured by the Daffodil Centre nurse who also provided me with additional information and services.
