Story

ICEC Battersea is pleased to announce the launch of our new Food Bank Initiative.

The main objective of the project is to help those who are struggling to make ends meet. We will provide an emergency weeks worth of groceries to individuals and families who have accommodation but are going through a crisis.

Why should we feed the hungry?

Short Answer:

1) Allah described those who feed needy people as those who will be among the companions of the right and those who will inherit Jannah.

2) The Prophet (peace and blessings upon him) also showed us that what is given in charity and what is being fed to the poor is what actually remains (eternally in terms of reward with Allah), as opposed to the food we consume.

On any given day, a staggering 870 million people worldwide do not have enough food to eat. Through the teaching of our beloved prophet Muhammad peach be upon him, we as muslims works to combat that staggering statistic. Feeding the hungry and helping the poor is an integral part of the Islamic faith. This is why this initiative is so important to us and we are also the only Muslim food bank operating in Battersea.
