Why?
Have fun and do good! The money you raise will help local children.
Sarah, aged 13, lives in Norfolk. She looks after her mum who is in chronic pain caused by endometriosis. Sarah washes her mums hair, puts her pyjamas on her and tucks her into bed. Sarah told us about how anxious she was during the pandemic when she was taking part in an online lesson but her mum needed help getting down the stairs. Sarah hoped her teacher didn't ask her a question because shed missed some of the lesson and wouldn't know the answer.
Across Norfolk there are around 6,000 children and young people who look after someone in their family. It can be a heavy burden to bear on young shoulders. Children with a caring role often miss out on the things other children can take for granted - playing out with friends, going to after-school clubs, playing computer games and relaxing at home - as they are busy caring. They may find it difficult to get homework done or be distracted in lessons as they are worried about the person they look after at home.
Caring Together provides these 'young carers' with breaks, trips out and treats. We provide opportunities for them to meet others who know what they are going through, and make new friends. Your donations will help children across Norfolk. You will put smiles on their faces and relieve the pressure they are under. Thank you!
