Donna celebrates her 50th birthday in January 2019 and since she's not a party animal, she decided to celebrate this milestone in another way. Donna also likes a challenge! So the challenge and celebration Donna has decided on is to undertake a 100 mile sponsored walk for Christian Aid's work with refugees and displaced people in Iraq & Lebanon. She will be joined by others who will do the whole or part of the 100 miles.
As a working lone parent, Donna has limited timed to participate in her 2 passions of walking and bell-ringing. The walk will represent her personal and spiritual journey over her 50 years as the walk visits churches in the all the villages in Gloucestershire & Wiltshire which have played some part in her life. Bells will be rung!
Donna and a band of friends will start the walk from Christ Church, Tetbury after a Christian Aid Big Brekkie on Saturday 12 January 2019. The aim is to walk approximately 12 miles each day and finish at St Mary's, Tetbury on Sunday 20 January with a grand tea and service of thanksgiving.
Funds raised will go to Christian Aid's Iraq & Lebanon Partnership Project which will be match funded 6:1. Thus the target of £14,286 will turn into £100,000!
