Since 1967, the Humboldt International Film Festival has brought independent short films to Humboldt County. As the world’s longest-running student-run film festival, we’ve created a unique venue for traditional films and alternative digital media. The festival enjoys an international reputation for supporting and celebrating independent filmmakers working in traditional, experimental, and non-traditional modes. Founded by a group of film-loving Cal Poly Humboldt students, the Festival has expanded over the years to feature 4 days of public screenings, workshops, and presentations by guest judges from the film industry each spring.

As a student-run festival, its success depends on the community's donations and support to keep the festival going for years to come.
