Story
Each year, Hull Hospitals’ Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) cares for over 500 premature babies, some stay for hours or days, whilst others stay for weeks and months. Hull is one of four Level 3 NICU’s within the Yorkshire and Humber region, caring for babies from 22 weeks gestation offering specialist intensive care for babies locally and across the country.
The WISHH Charity recently completed their Space to Grow Appeal, creating a sensory room for older babies, a sibling’s play area, parent’s quiet room and a specialist training facility from funds raised. There’s still more we would like to achieve for the Unit.
We welcome you to continue your support of Hull NICU, enabling us to further enhance the unit for the benefit of premature babies and their families. Funds raised will help us provide those important added extras above and beyond what the NHS can achieve alone. Helping us make a real difference to parents.
Matron Francesca Matthews said, “Parents who have had their pre-term baby cared for in Neonatal Intensive Care know that alongside the highly complex clinical skills needed to care for their tiny babies, provided by a round the clock team of 130 Neonatal staff, the impact and strain on the family is significant. Additional funds donated to Hull NICU, help make the many difficult days and nights spent alongside their infant a little more comfortable. Funds also enable us to invest in the latest technology to deliver exceptional care.”
Direct donations to NICU can also be made via bacs transfer and cheque. Follow this link to our charity's website for details https://www.wishhcharity.org.uk/ways-to-give/making-a-donation/
