Story
Our current funding is coming to an end. Hoxton Hall has been supporting local young people and families through culture since we began in 1863. Serving our community has always been core to what we do.
So, your support right now is so important to us to build on the impact we have had on young people’s lives and empowering us in continuing to help them “thrive”.
• Over the last years we've engaged 250 young people per week over 50% attending more than 3 sessions per week.
• 82% of our young people have come from the Global Majority and aged 7 to18 (up to 25 with SEND).
• We have been delivering in Hoxton in the 10% most deprived neighbourhood in England. We have delivered FREE dance, drama, music and visual arts 50 out 52 weeks of the year for young people who would not otherwise have access to participate in arts and culture.
• Our work is youth led through the mixed young leaders and the young women’s leadership groups who meet weekly.
One child who has been with us 11 years credits Hoxton Hall as “the one consistent place in my life where I can be myself and feel supported.”
A local youth worker says: “What Hoxton Hall can provide is priceless. Young people need a safe, inclusive, fun and accessible space where they are able to be themselves and also seek support at the same time. Hoxton Hall is all of these things.”
Our achievements are many including:
• Providing 30 of our young people with employment in the cultural industries as workshop Facilitators, Front of House, Box Office and their first paid employment as artists.
• 15 young people a year gaining Jack Petchey Silver Awards which has provided £3000 from the young people to be put back into projects.
• Alongside our holiday arts provision we have provided with the Holiday Activities Fund a free healthy meal to families most in need.
Despite the challenge we are optimistic that with your donation and help right now we’ll achieve exciting new plans for our youth work and thrive!
• Creative Health- We'd like to develop a weekly youth arts offer for 250 young people through a collaboration with community services such as Family Action to deliver wellbeing provision alongside the music, drama and arts.
• Youth Voice- We want to build on the success of our music provision. Our Acting Out drama group will create their own company which will be central with Hoxton Hall’s performance programme. This is as well as developing our annual youth led concert "Sound Out".
• Positive Futures- We want to build further on our success growing creative industry pathways and deliver a formal programme. We want to increase our partnerships for young people with professional artists and companies that will inspire young people to take the next steps to achieve their goals.

Every little bit helps but if you are not sure how much to give to make a difference here are some ideas to help you:
• £40 reflects what it has been costing for one child to access our provision for a year.
• £360 could provide a freelancer for a 3-day holiday project for young people
• £825 could provide a full 3-day holiday project for local young people in one art form
• £2460 could fund a full year of the Good for Girls leadership group enabling up to 25 young women a week to gain confidence on their own leadership and run their own events.
• £7000 could fund a full year of music provision for young people at Hoxton Hall. That is 3 days a week for up to 40 young people to gain mentoring, music production training, performance opportunities and free access to recording studios and acoustic instrument training.
