As part of our mission to give rescued donkeys a safe, happy and healthy home for life, we need to build a equine hospital facility at our sanctuary.

Many of the donkeys we rescue come into us in extremely poor condition. They often require emergency veterinary treatment and ongoing care for countless medical issues...

If a donkey becomes unwell, we are currently forced to carry out urgent veterinary procedures in one of our barns or transport them to an equine facility for tests or treatment. Although we have been managing, this situation is far from ideal - donkeys are incredibly sensitive and the additional stress of transport is always a concern.

A purpose built facility will allow us to carry out essential veterinary procedures in a more appropriate, safe and sterile environment and help to reduce the amount of stress for sick donkeys in need of special veterinary care. Importantly, it will offer a quiet, calm environment for sick individuals to recover and convalescence and provide vital facilities for round the clock monitoring and intensive care.

We have taken in an unprecedented number of rescued donkeys over the past few years which has put a huge strain on our finances and the Hospital will cost us in the region of £300,000. We know that raising funds will be a huge undertaking, but we are determined to make this vision a reality to provide the highest quality of care to our residents.
