Story

This theme for this year’s National Hospice Care Week is hospice retail and fundraising.

Hospices nationally are facing huge financial pressure. The modest amounts of funding they receive from the Government are forcing some to cut their vital services. Whilst it is brilliant that hospice shops provide affordable everyday items for our communities and collectively raise millions each year, we don’t think it’s right that government funding is coming up short.

On Saturday 12th October between 10am and 4pm at our Beaumond House Shop & Donation Centre in Newark (Asda upper-level carpark), we'll be jumping on exercise bikes to collectively cycle the distance around the perimeter of Newark and Sherwood - the area supported by Beaumond House Hospice Care. Just in case you were wondering, that’s 110.26 miles!

We would like to invite you to be part of this fun challenge to support your local hospice. Come along and cycle for 15 minutes, we’ll even have a prize for the individual who covers the most distance! There is no need to register just come along, browse around our shop and jump on an exercise bike.

If you would like to help us by raising the vital funds needed to keep our hospice helping our community, we have sponsorship forms available on our website, you can set up a JustGiving Page or if you prefer, you could make a donation via our website or in-store on the day.
