Story
The Hope Housing Dragons will be raising money to provide support to those who face eviction from the Everyone In scheme on the 19th October. For many of these clients their accommodation options are limited and they will have no where to turn once they have served their eviction notice. We are raising funds at the 2021 Bradford Boat Race Festival to help find appropriate accommodation and to help clients pay for their rent so they do not face eviction.
Many of these clients who are still in the Everyone In scheme are either asylum seekers or eastern European's who are destitute, meaning they have no access to government funds (i.e. Universal Credit) and as a result face the horrifying reality of rough sleeping again.
We know that we cannot solve homelessness by ourselves; and we work with other homeless organisations and focus our work on filling gaps in homeless provision so that in our city no one will be left out. The reality is it is the destitute clients who fall through the gaps for support as they have no means of paying for their accommodation. All our support is tailored to each individual and enables even the most disadvantaged people to access housing, financial and practical help through a person-centred, individualised approach. This approach will give these clients the best opportunity to end the cycle of homelessness and have a fresh start.
Click here to watch a short video produced by Green Pastures to hear more about the work that we do and hear from some clients themselves about the impact that Hope Housing has had on there lives.
Please give generously so that we can continue to support some of the most vulnerable people in our city and to work towards our goal or eradicating homelessness in Bradford.
Thank you!
