Story
Hope in a Time of Fear
On March 23rd, the Government announced a UK-wide lockdown. This presented a number of BIG challenges for the UCB team.
How do you suddenly adapt to continue every area of ministry, while the majority of the UCB team is working from home?
To ensure that UCB could continue without interruption, we had to quickly buy (in faith!) a great deal of equipment, including:
- Laptops for several members of staff, to enable them to work remotely;
- Mobile Internet units, for staff who didnt have strong enough internet access at home;
- Broadcast equipment to enable presenters to work remotely;
- A professional deep clean of the Broadcast Centre, after a visitor tested positive for Covid-19;
- Software to ensure our Supporter Care team could continue to take calls remotely;
- Print costs for early printing of the UCB Word For Today (in case UK Printers were not able to operate in the next few months).
The total extra costs came to £40,373 and as a charity, funded by our amazing listeners and readers, these costs were over and above our budget for the year. Could you stand with UCB and help to fund some of these costs?
UCB exists for such a time as this.
With churches closed and people living in isolation, UCB is replacing fear with a faith-filled message of hope. Through UCB Radio, the UCB Word For Today daily devotional, digital media and the UCB Prayerline, we're encouraging the UK that there is Hope For Every Home with God's Word.
Will you support UCB and help millions respond to the coronavirus with faith not fear?
What your gift will do:
A gift of £20 will help to pay for a mobile Wi-Fi unit, to enable life-changing ministry to continue remotely.
A gift of £30 will cover some of the extra costs of printing the UCB Word For Today much earlier than planned, to ensure readers can continue benefiting from daily readings, whatever happens.
A gift of £50 will help to pay for a team member's laptop which could, for example, mean supporters can still get in touch to request resources.
A gift of £100 will help to pay for the professional deep clean of UCB's Broadcast Centre, making it safe for our presenters to continue broadcasting live from the studios where possible.
Without the comfort, encouragement, inspiration and challenge of the UCB Word For Today, I don't know where I would be today. Instead my faith is stronger than ever. - David
Thank you UCB for continuing to broadcast hope during these uncertain times. - Suzie
UCB needs your help to continue sharing a faith-filled message of hope across the nation.
Thank you SO much for every gift!
