Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit our Just Giving page. Three of our staff members will be training together over the next few months to raise money for Nottinghamshire’s only 24/7 direct access emergency hostel, Hope House by completing the Yorkshire 3 Peaks.
Hope House can support up to 22 homeless people in crisis at any one time. We are also the only local service to accept pets into our accommodation.
Lucy, Jo and Melissa came up with the idea to challenge themselves but also raise some money for Hope Community Services, by training to complete the Yorkshire 3 Peaks, they have made a start with training, completing Jacobs Ladder over the weekend in 4 hours 36 minutes, 18.23 km and elevation of 599m.
The weather was not so kind, but they battled through wind, rain, hail and thunderstorms. Over the next few weeks, with other planned routes including Lofthouse, fingers crossed the weather stays fine. We will keep you posted.
The Yorkshire Three Peaks is a classic trekking challenge situated in the Yorkshire Dales. The aim is to summit Pen-y-ghent (694m), Whernside (736m) and Ingleborough (723m) the 24 miles in less than 12 hours, although completing it in any time is an achievement in itself!
