Story
Before the pandemic even hit, more than 121,000 young people needed support because they were facing or experiencing homelessness. You have the power to help turn their lives around.
End Youth Homelessness is excited to be working with the Chartered Institute of Housing's Homeful campaign, led by Jo Richardson .
At the start of her campaign, Jo set out to challenge herself by walking the South West Coast Path, having been inspired by Raynor Winn's story of homelessness and recovery through walking in her first book, The Salt Path. Jo completed that challenge at the end of May 2022. 630 miles, 35,000 metres (115,000 feet) of climbs and descents (4 x Mount Everest), 26,000 stairs up and down, 12 ferries (+ 1 train at Starcross as the ferry wasnt running), 436 stiles clambered, 880 gates opened and closed, 1,718,651 footsteps taken, 135,000 calories burned. Minehead in Somerset to Poole in Dorset - Englands longest and, reportedly, most arduous path. On 1st October, 2022 Jo joined 21 other housing colleagues The Vertical Avengers and undertook a skydive from 12000 feet a further hair-raising challenge, to amplify the issue of youth homelessness and raise further funds.
The money raised goes directly towards providing life-changing services for young people experiencing homelessness across the UK.
£15 could pay for travel to an all-important interview
