Help support refugee and asylum-seeking families on the U.S./México border this holiday season!

2020 has been a challenging year worldwide. More so, perhaps, for families waiting in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, México to seek asylum in the United States.

WHAT WILL WE PROVIDE? Each person will receive a drawstring bag with a winter hat and gloves, lip balm, a book, a notebook, pens/watercolors/crayons/colored pencils and a pencil sharpener, playing cards/stuffed animals/stress toys/baby toys, food, and more.

ANYTHING ELSE? Yes! Some of the items may be purchased directly from the Borderland Holiday Humanitarian Aid Amazon Wish List. (Special Note: If possible, make your purchase through AmazonSmile, in honor Border Servant Corps. HOW? Search "Border Servant Corps," which will be displayed as "Peace Lutheran Church/Border Servant Corps.") UPDATE: As of Wednesday, November 3rd, 2020 all items had been purchased from the Amazon Wish List. The items remaining to be purchased are not on the Amazon Wish List. Thank you to all who have / are making this possible!

AND...BOOKS! In collaboration with Denise Chávez and the Casa Camino Real Bookstore, through the Libros Para El Viaje program, we will be collecting donations (through this platform) to purchase books. In addition, books may also be sent to / dropped off with Casa Camino Real and/or Border Servant Corps. Of course, we welcome any books; however, the most needed at this time are adult and young adult Spanish-language books (fiction or non-fiction). When selecting books, please remember the aim is to empower, inspire, and provide a sense of hope through literature.
