Story
These are challenging times and, with so much uncertainty, we know that we need to adapt quickly to our changing reality. Now, more than ever, our community needs us. Our WWFC families need us. And we need you!
While current circumstances necessitated a shift from our in-person Holiday Heroes event, we have found a creative way to create joy and spread holiday cheer this year while also raising much-needed funds for the ever-increasing number of families struggling right now.
For 2020, we will present Holiday Heroes At Home - a family-friendly virtual fundraising event on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 with many of the event elements you eagerly anticipate each year, including Award presentation, athlete appearances, beneficiary spotlights, music, entertainment and so much more!
We are THRILLED to announce that Pablo Sandoval, San Francisco Giants, will be our 2020 Inspiration Award Recipient and Stephen Revetria, Giants Enterprises, will accept our Community Philanthropy Award.
We are creating Wonder Boxes, for families and companies that buy tickets and Be-A Hero Boxes for underserved children. All boxes will be filled with arts and crafts activities, treats, and surprise and delight elements. For our Be-A-Hero boxes, they will also be filled with essential items such as non-perishable food, grocery and gas gift cards and toiletries. We will work with the beneficiary non-profits to identify items of greatest need for each population.
Our goal is to raise $10,000 which will be used toward donating Be-A- Hero boxes and providing cans of soup, cans of beans, cans of tomato sauce, warm socks, toothbrushes, toothpaste, and gift cards.
Organizations we are supporting include There With Care, Family House, Play Marin, Project Glimmer, Junior Giants Baseball, Raphael House, and Edgewood Center for Families and Children.
We hope you can participate by donating funds for our Be-A-Hero boxes to make sure that children have what they need this holiday season.
