Visit the charity's profileHackney Night Shelter's vision is for a route out of homelessness for everyone in need in Hackney. For 25 years we have not only provided emergency accommodation and shelter, but also professional and holistic support to help our guests rebuild their lives and move towards a more sustainable lifestyle. We provide a safe place to sleep away from the harsh conditions of living on the street, giving people time and space to rebuild their lives.
Our shelters are run almost entirely by our team of volunteers who offer non-judgemental hospitality, a friendly face and above all, a listening ear to our guests.
We don't receive any government funding, so rely on grants, donations and fundraising to fund our vital work. Events like the Hackney Half Marathon are a huge opportunity to raise money to continue providing this essential service for those experiencing homelessness in Hackney.
