Hackney Night Shelter Sponsored Sleep Out 2023
Hackney Night Shelter has been providing emergency shelter and routes out of homelessness for over 25 years. The number of homeless people has risen dramatically in recent years and continues to rise. Last year outreach teams across London met over 10,000 homeless people sleeping rough. Hackney Night Shelter currently provides 26 bed spaces per night and in the past six months have helped over 30 people to move into their own accommodation.
Now we’re asking for your support. Will you join us, just for one night, sleeping out, and help raise funds through sponsorship towards the costs of helping homeless people in Hackney?
The sleep out is on Friday 20 October in the churchyard of St John at Jerusalem E9.
We are inviting individuals or families or teams from local businesses, churches and other faith groups to sign up here at Eventbrite. To ensure that all the funds raised go towards supporting homeless people we are asking for an admin fee of £20 per person. We will provide soup in the evening, a commemoration hooded top and breakfast in the morning. There will be staff on duty through the night. All participants will be expected to raise at least £250.
