Story
With winter looming, many fear what they are facing. People are turning once again to their local charities and community groups for help simply to put food on the table, often while dealing with other complex issues. And that's why the work of HIWCF and all the charitable and voluntary organisations we support is so crucial - literally offering a lifeline every single day.
In partnership with local charities this winter, HIWCF will provide hardship grants for food, power and other items to help those in desperate need. We will also provide grants to foodbanks, pantries and basics banks in areas with the highest need.
Sam Hanson, Portsmouth Foodbank Manager said "We have seen countless clients come through our doors saying they never thought they would end up relying on a foodbank, and that many have to make the tough choice between putting their heating on or feeding their family. This is a choice no one in the UK should have to make."
Households are facing this crisis now. Please help us to support local people impacted by this extraordinary crisis.
JustGiving deducts a payment processing cost on each donation of 1.9% + 20p and sends your donation straight to HIWCF. JustGiving automatically reclaims Gift Aid if you are a UK taxpayer, so that your donation is worth even more to HIWCF.
Please note that HIWCF will take an administrative fee of 5% on all donations, to help the Foundation cover the costs of managing the Fund. Thank you.
