Histon Manor is supporting Break, our chosen charity for 2025.
Each year, we choose a key charity to support, and all our fundraisers for the year will focus on raising the profile of this amazing charity and providing them with essential funds.
Our February Snowdrop event will be the first in our calendar. We will also be working with our clients to involve them where possible.
We are delighted to announce that 10% of our corporate bookings will go directly to this charity, and in some cases, our clients will be matching this.
We have been so impressed by the incredible work that Break does with vulnerable children and families in our area. We’re excited to contribute and help play a small role in helping create brighter futures for young people." Katherine Mann, Histon Manor.
Money raised from this year's fundraising will go to supporting Break's work with young care leavers in Cambridgeshire - giving them the helping hand they need on their journey into independence. This includes one to one mentoring and transition support, opportunities to develop their confidence and skills, even dedicated training on our CoffeeBreak van.
We are thrilled that Histon Manor has chosen to support us in 2025. Each year young care leavers risk homelessness as they move on from care - 40% become homeless in their first year. Its a terrifying statistic and I'm pleased to say that Break's wraparound care ensures our young people do not become one of these statistics. Thank you to Histon Manor and we look forward to working with you."
Here is just a few ways that the money we raise can change the life of a care leaver in Cambridgeshire:
£27 gives a young person a one-to-one therapeutic session to work through their trauma and deal with their emotions.
£60 will help a young person furnish their new home - turning a flat into their very own space; their home.
£122 helps a young person gain work skills on our CoffeeBreak van.
£284 enables us to match a young person to a trained, dedicated mentor, so they have someone to turn to and walk alongside them.
