Every Step You Take Makes a Difference!

Hike for Hospice Huntsville 2021 is running from Sunday May 2nd to Monday May 31st. When you participate in Hike for Hospice Huntsville's Create Your Own Hike Event, you will be hiking to help ensure our community members receive the end-of-life care they wish for and deserve.

The funds raised by our participants stay in our community and help us continue to provide care and support free of charge to individuals who are facing end of life situations. This care and support are also extended to the individuals' families and caregivers.

The Hike is also a way to celebrate and honour our loved ones in a special and meaningful way. The Hike will commence with a Virtual Opening Ceremony and Celebration of Life. This video will be available at www.hospicehuntsville.com . Memory Branches will be available outside of Algonquin Grace for you to write a note to your loved one and clip it to the tree. Please bring your own pen. Sanitizer will be provided for you to sanitize your hands before and after writing your note. All notes will be planted in the Algonquin Grace gardens with the Memory Branches by our Gardening Volunteers.

There is a minimum $50 donation required by each Hiker which will be waived if your total pledges/donations are $100 or more. Hikers are responsible for collecting all pledges.

Creating Your Own Hike gives you lots of options! Hike solo or create a team. Choose the setting of your choice: climb stairs, walk a trail, ride your bike, run on your treadmill, walk the dog. We encourage you to walk a minimum of 1 km.  We ask that you please remember to follow your local health guidelines regarding social distancing and gatherings.

We would love to see you on your hike! If you take a picture or 2 please share them with us at hospiceh@vianet.ca.  Take pictures of who you are with, how you are participating, your hiking boots, your pets that are participating, the sites and scenes along the way.  We will use these for our websites and promotions.

Fundraising can be done through this on-line platform or by use of paper pledge forms, or collect both on-line and off-line donations. Receipts will be issued for donations of $20 or more.

Prizes: Top Team, Top Team with Corporate Matching and Top Individual Fundraiser prizes will be determined based on all funds received by midnight May 31st 2021.
