Story
When COVID-19 hit, Sandra*, 78, could no longer see her family and friends. As she became lonelier, her dementia deteriorated. Now, her social support network has drifted away and she no longer feels confident leaving the house.
Home Instead Charities fund community groups and charities who safely run social groups for people like Sandra. Music therapy, crafting sessions and coffee clubs all help to create friendships between ageing adults, a key factor in reducing the risk of dementia and improving mental health for ageing adults.
Our amazing team of Home Instead Charities supporters are running the London Landmarks Half Marathon to raise money for the thousands of people like Sandra who have been impacted by the pandemic. Please join our mission to end loneliness in ageing adults by donating today.
