Story
In 2007, HHA co-founded one of the leading hospitals in North Haiti, 'Hospital HCBH', a 100+ bed facility that employs over 270 local Haitian staff. The hospital still specialises in maternal and infant healthcare with operating theatres for emergency deliveries, a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit for critically sick and premature babies, as well as providing Disability Rehabilitation Centres at the hospital, caring for spinal cord and stroke patients.
14 years on, a new water well is being built at the hospital to provide good, clean and drinkable water to all staff members, patients and visitors, thanks to the incredible support of Living Water. This will be the combination of many hopes, dreams, and years of hard work from the wider HHA team. In this area around the hospital, we have a layer of clay (around 60ft) which protects the water below from sewage, and other surface contaminants. For the first time, we will be able to drill beneath that layer and be one step closer to providing clean, drinking water for the hospital and its patients.
This is where we need your help. We need to raise £2,000 to support the first phase of the work, including buying a new pump and some pipework. If youd like to help make this dream a reality, you can place a special 14th anniversary birthday gift towards the hospital on this page. Please help in any way you can, whether through donations or prayers. Thank you.
