Help For Children's mission to fight child abuse has never been more important than now, against the backdrop of the global pandemic, economic fallout and social distancing measures. These measures are leaving children at home with their parents, who, studies show, are the main perpetrators of child abuse in nearly 80% of cases. Now more than ever, we need your help to combat what experts warn has become a worldwide silent epidemic.
Help For Children has been fighting child abuse since 1998 and works with an academic expert, from Columbia University's School of Social Work, to prevent and treat child abuse by funding effective programs in four impact areas. These include decreasing the risk of abuse, strengthening vulnerable families, and working with survivors to reduce trauma and build individual strengths.
