Story
Humanity First UK has been responding to disasters across the world for 25 years .
Our Disaster Relief Fund has helped support our disaster response within hours of a sudden onset disaster from Hurricanes, Tsunamis, Earthquakes, Floods and other natural disasters.
As well as natural disasters we respond to tragic industrial accidents and man made disasters such as following conflict and refugee crises.
Our trained disaster responders come from a volunteer base stretched across 200 countries of the world. These response teams are professionals trained to international standards who volunteer their time free of charge and include doctors, engineers, pharmacists, logisticians, supply chain experts, water and sanitation experts, psycho-social trauma support workers as well as shelter experts.
Our international teams come from within their countries who speak the local language and understand local needs. Within the UK our disaster responders come from a large pool of professionals including the NHS who can be deployed anywhere in the world as needed based on a disaster assessment in consultation with the United Nations Office for Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA)
