Story

Mudlarks

Mudlarks is a Hertford based charity which supports adults and young people with learning disabilities and mental health concerns. Through supported learning and meaningful work in the community, Mudlarks’ projects help people build confidence and self-worth, and develop important skills.

Their café provides training and paid work for adults with learning disabilities, enabling everyone to take a full and active role in our community. At their allotments in Cromwell Road they provide gardening therapy, and people grow vegetables in a safe and caring environment as well as gardening in the community.

The Trust manages nearly 2,000 acres of land for wildlife across Hertfordshire and Middlesex, from rare patches of heathland to wonderful wetlands. And with their members and volunteers, work to protect and enhance wild places across Hertfordshire and Middlesex, both on their 40 nature reserves and throughout the wider countryside.
