'Beating the Bounds'
The Mayor of Hertford Cllr Rachel Carter and Consort Jon Banks will be walking the Boundary of Hertford.

On Friday 19th July the Mayor of Hertford will be walking the Boundary of Hertford Town.
'Beating the Bounds' is an ancient custom, dating from Anglo-Saxon times, which traditionally involved swatting local landmarks with branches to maintain a shared mental map of parish boundaries.
In 2024 The Mayor wishes to celebrate Hertford through the Boundary walk and hopes to meet many people along the way.
All to raise money for East Herts Citizens Advice and Hertford and District Guides.
