Story
Every year, Friends of the Cancer Centre provides over £100K of financial grants to local families from across Northern Ireland. Often, these are to help with the hidden costs that a cancer diagnosis can bring. Cancer treatment can involve frequent hospital appointments, with an average round trip of 100 miles every time. The most common cost that people living with cancer face, is the additional expense of getting to and from appointments.
So, were asking you to challenge yourself to complete100 Hero Miles and raise £200, which could help us fund a financial grant for a local family.
Taking part in Friends of the Cancer Centre's Hero Miles Challenge is easy - simply decide how and when you are going to complete your 100 mile challenge and then, get sponsored and raise funds to help Friends of the Cancer Centre provide support and care for local people impacted by cancer.
It's a flexible challenge, so you can tailor it to suit yourself.
* You could run 100 miles throughout January or February
* Or walk 10,000 steps a day for 20 days from World Cancer Day - 4th February
* Cycle or row 100 miles in the gym
* Alternatively, get together a group of friends, family or team members to complete the 100 Hero Miles challenge on the same day.
