For nearly 40 years, SurvivorsUK has been a lifeline for men, boys, and non-binary people who have experienced sexual abuse. Our National Male Survivors Online Helpline helps thousands of survivors every year to find life-changing support, access our counselling and advocacy services, or talk about what they’re going through confidentially with a trained Emotional Support Worker.
As a charity, we rely on grants and donors to fund our specialist support services. Sadly, due to funding coming to an end in April 2025, the future of our helpline is uncertain.
Every year in the UK, around 12,000 men are raped and 76,000 sexually abused or assaulted. It isn’t easy for survivors to talk about what’s happened to them: only 4% will ever do so. Of the few who do, it takes an average of over 20 years to take that first step.
For thousands of male and non-binary survivors across the UK, our National Male Survivors Online Helpline is the only place they can turn—a space where they are believed, supported, and understood. Without it, many will be left to suffer in silence.
The good news is it doesn’t have to be that way.
- £10 could cover our platform costs for 1 day
- £15 could enable 1 survivor to have a 45 minute support session with one of our trained Emotional Support Workers when they need it most
- £30 could fund support sessions for 2 survivors
- £50 could fund support sessions for 3 survivors
- £135 could keep our vital helpline service open for 1 whole day
We understand this is a challenging time for everyone. Every conversation on our Helpline can change – or even save – a life. Your donation can make all the difference to a survivor when they need help most.
Please donate or share this fundraiser and help keep our helpline open for male and non-binary survivors today. Together, we can Break The Silence.
Your donations will be used with the primary purpose of keeping our National Male Survivors Online Helpline open. If the Helpline cannot remain operational sustainably, then we will spend your donations where they are needed most in our other specialist support services. All donations will be used to sustain and expand our services to help change the lives of male and non-binary survivors for the better.
