Story
In the UK, more than 14 million people are living in poverty including 4.5 million children - and we are seeing that need right now in our community.
The cost of living crisis is affecting those living in the Horsham District. Working families are now among those left wondering where their next meal is coming from or when they will be able to afford to top up their gas and electricity meters.
Horsham Matters helps by providing emergency food and fuel vouchers and supporting those locked in poverty with advice on budgeting, debt and benefits advice as well as counselling and advocacy.
Our charity also provides basic household essentials for those newly housed; these residents have been homeless or escaping insecure or vulnerable living situations.
Demand for our services is high and foodbank use is double that of last year.
We rely on the support of our community to enable us to reach out to everyone who needs help. Your donation, however small, will help us to meet increasing needs and support those who are experiencing hardship.
What your donations can fund:
£19 will fund 3 days emergency food for a single person using the foodbank
£21 will buy a kettle for someone newly housed
£45 will fund a 3-day parcel for a family of 4 people using the foodbank
£49 will fund a gas/electricity voucher for someone who is experiencing fuel poverty
£80 will fund a double mattress for someone newly housed
