Story
The on-going COVID-19 pandemic is having a devastating impact on Tenovus Cancer Care. This means we need your help and support now, more than ever, in helping us to keep supporting cancer patients and their families.
We've experienced a huge drop in the vital income we desperately need, as our charity shops were forced to close and most of our fundraising events have had to be cancelled or postponed. As a result, the first three months of our new financial year have seen a 71% drop in our planned income. And more worryingly, we are now predicting a shortfall of £3.5 million by the end of March 2021.
Your support to help safeguard the charitys future and ensure we are here for anyone affected by cancer, both now and in the future, has never been more valuable. Thank you.
I thought I'd seen it all, until this.
The Coronavirus has made our support services for cancer patients and their loved ones more important than ever before. Every caller is worried about their health or the wellbeing of their loved ones. Understandably it's a stressful and confusing time for everybody, and we're all desperate for answers. We've had to postpone our annual Gala Ball and cancel many of our fundraising events. Income from our shops has dropped significantly due to the virus as, with everything going on, people are not donating stock to us or coming in to shop. It's an unprecedented situation for us financially, yet our fundraising income is vital in ensuring we can be there for anyone affected by cancer. Nobody knows what the future holds, but with the Coronavirus pandemic having such a significant impact on the charity, please we ask you would support us at this difficult time.
