Theo was born at 6.5 months old in 2016 in an unexpected rush to get to hospital in time. Following a terrifying initial period, where we nearly lost him multiple times, he eventually came home. We then had an agonising wait of over two years, spending several sessions in hospitals in Southampton and London (Kingston, Chelsea & Westminster, and GOSH), until we received a diagnosis of cerebral palsy. Despite all of this, Theo was and continues to be incredibly positive with a wonderful can-do attitude to life, including throughout his SDR operation at GOSH in 2019.
Theo is now nearly nine years old and loving life, but continues to need intensive therapy and wider support to continue his development - and to ensure we can do everything possible for him to reach his full potential, to mitigate/remove barriers caused by his disability, and to help him to live an independent and full life.
