Story
Our little daughter Emilia was born with a congenital heart defect. Due to complications during delivery and lack of oxygen, she suffered a severe brain injury that caused cerebral palsy, epilepsy, microcephaly, and serious swallowing difficulties. She is fed through a gastrostomy and requires continuous therapies and medical support.
Emilia is a bright, gentle, and incredibly strong little girl. Despite everything she has been through, she keeps smiling and fighting every single day.
In the UK, Emilia receives very limited NHS support — only a speech therapist twice a month and physiotherapy observations at her nursery. Unfortunately, this is not enough to help her progress. That is why we travel to Olinek Rehabilitation Centre in Warsaw, Poland, where Emilia attends intensive daily therapy sessions (five hours a day) with a team of specialists: physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech and feeding therapy, hand and vision therapy, and psychological support to help her gain independence and emotional stability.
These therapies have made a remarkable difference — helping Emilia move more confidently, swallow more safely, and improve her communication and awareness.
We are now fundraising for four intensive rehabilitation courses over the next year, as well as for essential sensory, communication, and educational equipment to continue her progress at home.
Your support will give Emilia the chance to live with comfort and dignity, to move, to learn, to connect with others, and to grow in her own unique way.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping our little girl.
