Story

Rescue Dot: A Loving Devoted Mum Fighting to Breathe Freely Again

Meet Dot, a gentle and devoted 2-year-old French Bulldog who has already given so much but received so little in return.

Dot spent her life in an overcrowded, multi-animal home where she was used for breeding. She brought new life into the world time and time again, yet her own health and happiness were never considered. She wasn’t valued for who she was, only for what she could produce

But Dot is not just a number. She is a mum. A truly wonderful mum.

She's raising her pups with unwavering love, patience, and care, even when she is tired, sore, and struggling to breathe. She cuddles them close even when she's needed to rest herself. She licks them clean when her own body is crying out for help. She's giving them everything and asking for nothing.

Now it's Dot who needs someone to care for her.

💔 Her Health Is Suffering

Dot is dealing with multiple painful conditions that are all too common in her breed. Years of neglect have taken their toll, and without urgent medical help, her future remains uncertain.

She needs:

- BOAS surgery to help her breathe and reduce the constant struggle for air

- Fold resection to ease painful skin irritation

- Tail surgery to relieve the discomfort caused by her tightly coiled tail

What is BOAS?

Brachycephalic Obstructive Airway Syndrome (BOAS) affects flat-faced breeds like French Bulldogs and Pugs. It causes significant breathing difficulties due to narrowed airways, leaving dogs exhausted and distressed. Signs include heavy snoring, panting, and laboured breathing, and in severe cases, it can be life threatening.

Dot lives with this every day.

💙 Let’s Give Dot the Life She Is Giving Her Pups

Dot’s goofy side is starting to shine through, rolling in the grass, snuggling under blankets, sniffing out her favourite treats. But her joy is limited by pain. She’s never had the chance to just be a dog.

Now is our chance to repay her loyalty, her love, and her strength.

Your donation can help Dot finally receive the care she needs. It’s more than just medical treatment, it’s a chance at life. A chance at peace. A chance to be loved not for what she can give, but simply for who she is.

Any additional funds raised will go towards helping other animals like Dot.

Thank you for being part of Dot’s journey.

Together, we can give this amazing mum the future she deserves. 💙🐾
